Each female lays 50 to 100 eggs per year; normal values range between 60 and 70. Each egg weights approx. 1.5 kilograms. The hatching percentage highly varies and strictly depends on the type of hatchery used and proper setup of all breeding phases.

Incubation is always artificial and performed in a close premise.

Incubation phase lasts for about 40-42 days, period when the automated control of temperature and humidity is necessary (36.1 to 36.4 degrees, with humidity lower than 20%).
