More than just an incubator for queen bees: 3-in-1 versatility

The incubators in Fiem's APICULTURE series offer an innovative and versatile solution for beekeepers, encompassing three distinct functions in a single machine:

  • incubation of queen bees,
  • pollen drying,
  • liquefaction of honey.

Thanks to this multi-functionality, the Fiem incubator is a valuable investment for optimising the processes involved in professional beekeeping.

Features and Benefits

  • Queen bee incubation

Incubators allow the completion of the royal cell development cycle, from the fifth day after hatching to the eve of hatching, ensuring optimal conditions for queen growth. This approach has become popular among Italian breeders in order to effectively manage the birth of queens even in variable weather conditions. Thanks to the use of the incubator, queens can be marked before introduction into the nuclei, facilitating hive control and management. For proper acceptance by the bees, it is recommended to introduce the queen within four days after birth.

  • Pollen drying

The incubator can be equipped with special shelves with microgrids for food use, allowing the pollen to be dried before packaging. This function represents an added value for those who wish to process and store pollen optimally, guaranteeing a market-ready product.

  • Liquefaction of crystallised honey

With a simple temperature setting of 40°C, crystallised honey can be dissolved by placing the containers (jars or pails) directly into the incubator. This process preserves the nutritional and organoleptic properties of the honey, maintaining its original quality. Crystallisation is a natural phenomenon that occurs when honey is stored at temperatures below 14-15°C; the incubator therefore allows the honey to be restored to its liquid form without altering its characteristics.

Instructions for use of the queen bee incubator:

We recommend switching on the incubator at least 24 hours before use to check that the temperature control system is working properly. The temperature control via the digital thermostat should be set at 33.3 °C (92 °F). The ventilation system remains constantly active to ensure an even distribution of the internal temperature.

For optimal management, it is advisable to follow the specific procedures for the care of royal cells up to one day before the queens hatch. The incubator allows direct hatching in a controlled environment.

Security details:

The models comply with EEC regulations on electrical safety. The control panel is located outside the cabin to prevent moisture and condensation from interfering with the electrical components.
